Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton has extended his championship lead to 30 points after breaking Ferrari hearts at last night's Italian GP.
Hamilton, who started from third on the grid behind the Ferrari duo of Kimi Räikkönen and Sebastian Vettel, jumped to second after a tangle with Vettel on the opening lap which sent Vettel back to 18th in the field.
Race stewards cleared Hamilton of any wrongdoing, however Vettel was left seething after the incident.
"That was silly, where did he want to go?" Vettel said over team radio.
"I think he didn't leave me any space, and I had no other chance but to make contact and I tried to get out from there but couldn't," he said.
Hamilton trailed behind Räikkönen for a majority of the race but seized control on Turn 1 of Lap 45.
A Ferrari driver has not won at Monza since 2010, with the championship leader saying he felt the hatred from the Italian crowd.
"Here there was a lot of negativity, as there is when you're against an opposing team," he said.
"The negativity is really a positive thing for me because I harness it and turn it from negative to positive."
Aussie Daniel Ricciardo was forced to retire for the third time in the past four races, this time due to an engine failure. It was his sixth retirement this season.
Hamilton has a 30 point championship lead with seven races to come in the 2018 season.
