Ben Simmons has been named as NBA 2K's cover athletes exclusively for copies sold in Australia and New Zealand.

Following a historically great rookie season, Ben Simmons has been given an honour every NBA star hopes to receive one day, the cover athlete of a 2K game.

Simmons averaged 15.8 points a game along with 8.1 rebounds and 8.2 assists in his first year in the NBA.

Alongside Simmons' image on the cover are words he selected to surround him. Each term holding value to the rookie of the year, words include "loyalty", "Family" and a picture of a kangaroo.

For fans all over the world, they will receive a cover featuring Giannis Antetokounmpo surrounded by words with meaning to himself. It isn't the first time 2K has selected to go with multiple cover athletes depending on where fans around the world purchase their copy.

As well as the Simmons exclusive and the standard Giannis copy, LeBron will feature on the golden "20th anniversary edition" of NBA 2K19. LeBron too will be surrounded by words with special meaning to him and to his career.
