The New England Patriots have won their way through to SuperBowl LI, where they will take on the Atlanta Falcons, following a 36-17 win over the Pittsburg Steelers.

The Patriots win in AFC Championship game, sees the franchise reach a record ninth SuperBowl.

Earlier, the Falcons comfortably accounted for the Green Bay Packers 44-21 in the NFC Championship game to enter just their second ever SuperBowl.

Atlanta's only other appearances in the SuperBowl came in 1998, when they were beaten 34-19 by the Denver Broncos.

SuperBowl LI will take place at 10.30am AEDT on February 6.
