Highly-touted Australian punter Max Fletcher, son of AFL great Dustin Fletcher, has signed with the University of Arkansas for the 2022 season.

Fletcher, who is seen as a top-five punter in the nation among his class, will follow in the footsteps of his older brother Mason, who is currently plying his trade with the University of Cincinnati.

The pair will clash in the opening week of the 2022 season, with Arkansas hosting the Bearcats for the first in their history.

Max officially signed with the Razorbacks on Wednesday (AEDT), with the 19-year-old having impressed with his long kicking ability, akin to his dad.

"It was just really exciting to officially be signing with the University of Arkansas," Fletcher said recently.

"I have been waiting for this moment for a while now, and now to be officially part of the Razorback family is absolutely amazing.

"But to see my family after I sent it to Arkansas, they were smiling. It was good to see how proud they were of me and that was the best moment for me."

Fletcher is set to come up against some of America's biggest college football sides, including the likes of fellow SEC giants LSU, Alabama and Georgia.

The talented teenager has emerged as a top prospect following his development with Prokick Australia, an institute that has formed a handful of Ray Guy Award winners and 17 All-Americans.
